Spending funds provided by the Harpur Trust allowed us to redevelop our kitchen. The Harpur Trust has donated £4,750 to the club. With upgraded facilities we would encourage any local organisation that require a venue to get in touch through the website contact page.
Great Barford Bowls Club has just received funds from local grant maker The Harpur Trust which will enable the club to improve facilities for club members. The Harpur Trust has donated £4,750 to the club which will allow improve the comfort of the club house during the winter months and we would encourage any local organisation that require a venue to get in touch through the website (http://www.greatbarfordbowlsclub.org.uk) .
The Club already host a Pilates Group on 2.30pm Friday afternoons, a Yoga group on Friday moprning starting at 10am. Both groups would welcome new members who can just come along and join in a session. As well as bowls through the summer season we have a Petanque section which runs all year round and they would welcome new members as they are looking to add a second team in the local league next season.
Beryl Seymour, Ladies Captain said, “This funding helps us, along with other initiative we are following, to have a clubhouse that is warm and attractive to our club members as well as to organisations within the local area. We are always looking for new members to the club and would welcome any interest from the local community who would like to use our clubhouse facilities. We are planing to expand our club to include younger members of our community through contacts with local schools. We are also looking at the possibility of introducing computer sessions/workshops for club members and the local community.”
