2023 Season

  • Maz Lyon won the ladies singles title and The Elizabethan Trophy for the fifth year in succession, beating Anne Onyett in the final.
  • Alex Winstone retained The Pym Challenge Cup handicap competition in his first year of bowls, beating Bill Quince in the final.
  • Malcolm Lilley picked up the gents singles title and the Whitchurch Cup after defeating Steve Lyon.
  • Maz Lyon and Marianne Beavis overcame Veronica Brown and Brenda Aitken to take the F. Jones Trophy in the ladies pairs competition.
  • Keith Blaxill and Bob Lovesey beat John Wrycroft and Mike Walker to secure the gents pairs title and the Howard Cup.
  • Keith Blaxill won the Harry Favell Trophy beating Steve Lyon in the 2 Wood final.
  • In the fixed jack final, Charles Martin-Moran stood in for the unavailable Anne Onyett to partner Maz Lyon and take the Darrington Cup. They beat Malcolm Lilley and Marianne Beavis’ herself standing in for the injured Pat Martin-Moran.
  • The Aussie pairs league title was taken by Tom Thompson and Charles Martin-Moran, after an exciting victory in the final against Elaine Lound-Keast and Keith Blaxill.
  • Maz Lyon, Marianne Beavis and Mike Pryce came out on top to win the P.A. Bygraves Mixed Triples Cup on triples day.
  • The Ladies finished Runners Up in Division 2 of the Bedford & District League.
  • The Club finished 3rd in the Brian Taverner Memorial Cup league, won this year by Potton.
  • Our A Team finished 6th in the East Beds League Division 1 and the B Team finished 8th in Division 3.
  • The Club finished 5th in Division 2 of the Millicent Childs Over 60s League.
