O60 at Ramsey Scarlet

I don’t yet have the Week 4 League Tables: probably a good thing, they don’t make pretty reading. Winning on all 3 rinks after 8 ends, we lost on all 3 after 18 at Somersham.

This is the team to turn that result on its head by beating Ramsey Scarlet at HOME 2pm on Wednesday 2 June:

John W, John G, Tom

Paul, Bill, Malcolm

Joy, Ray, Mike

Weather looks a bit better this week, so don’t forget the sunblock.

O60 Update 23rd May

Beaten by a better side last week – the current table is below.

This Wednesday (26 May) we go to Somersham. Don’t be fooled by their league position, they have had a narrow defeat in just one game so far.

Charles is not quite fit yet (get well soon) and Paul steps in, so the team is:

Joe, Robbo, Ray

Pat, Keith, Mike P

Alex, Paul, Malcolm.

2021 Comp Draw

Below a note on arranging the Preliminary Round matches.

We have swapped MAZ & JOY from the Thursday League to the Friday League, and JOHN G & DERRICK the other way. This has been changed on the website.

Aussie Thursday League: there were 2 clashes with Friendly Matches.

Note the dates on the website carefully: “Thursday” starts a week early on 17 June and finishes a week late on 29 July.

Aussie Pairs matches can be rearranged like any other.

Due to a clash with an arranged Friendly Match, The Triples Day is changed to SUNDAY 18 JULY.

Finals Weekend (11/12 September) also clashes with a Friendly Match, but we hope the Friendly can be moved or cancelled: confirmation to follow.

ARRANGING PRELIMINARY ROUND MATCHES

This year, because of the various League and Friendly Matches, as well as Holidays, we are going back to the “Old Method” of booking Knock Out Games.

So it will be the responsibility of the FIRST NAMED Player or Pair, to make contact with the Opposition and offer and agree a time and date for the match.

And to ensure it is entered in THE BOOKINGS DIARY (the book in the Clubhouse).

However there is no reason why the Second Named can’t take the initiative to get it sorted.

THE PRELIMINARY ROUNDS are to be played by 31 MAY – that’s just 10 matches: Kev has already contacted me and to arrange our Handicap match.

You can play on any day after 1pm UNLESS YOUR MATCH CLASHES WITH A CLUB MATCH, please leave those slots well alone.

Club Matches are on the Calendar http://www.greatbarfordbowlsclub.org.uk/gb-tournaments/match-calendar/
